The
CIS Story
My name is Dana Brewer, and I founded Computer Information Station (CIS) in 1988 because of my passion for small businesses. I remember growing up in East Oakland in the 1960s as a little girl. A LOT was going on. I was surrounded by strong women in my family who were blazing trails and running businesses. I spent long afternoons learning data entry with my mom in her business. A spark ignited, and I fell in love with Business and Technology.
Fast forward a few more years. The job I held at the time was stifling my power and energy, mainly due to the color and gender thing. I took a leap of faith, left that job, and started my technology consulting business. I could now impact small businesses in Oakland and San Francisco Bay Area for growth while employing and training local youth for a career in Information Technology.
I have worn just about every hat there is to wear on a technology team – from support technician to database administrator to CIO – and am laser-focused on problem-solving, innovation for efficiency, and winning at business. I bring this energy daily to my team and each client relationship.

Now as the CEO of “Computer Information Station” I am leading a dedicated team of experts in “IT Support Services”, “Managed IT Solutions”, “Cloud Computing Services”, “Cybersecurity Solutions”, “Network Infrastructure Services”, and “Unified Communications (VoIP)”.
I’d say that I have blazed a few trails over the years. I hope I have measured up to the stature of the women who blazed trails before me and that I pay it forward so the next little girl dares to dream!
